Course Program
The course addresses transport phenomena, both mass and heat transfer, with references to momentum transfer (already faced in the Fluid Mechanics course). The main goal consists in achieving fluency in writing material and energy balances, both at the meso and macro scales, for typical case studies of the chemical engineering. By doing this, a general methodology will be achieved for the design and simulation of both unit operations and chemical reactors. Finally, numerical methods will be introduced for the solution of exercices related to transport phenomena and chemical reaction engineering.
