Ing. Derese Tekestebrihan Nega

Derese Tekestebrihan Nega was born on 13th January 1982 in Ethiopia. He earned an MSc degree in Sustainable Energy Engineering at Jimma University Institute of Technology, Ethiopia with a thesis project dealing with “Software development for design simulation and optimization of parabolic through solar thermal power plant”. Currently he is a Visiting Ph.D. Student in Sustainable Energy Engineering at PoliMi:-Politecnico di Milano (Supervisor prof. Flavio Manenti) Under ExiST Project: Excellence in Science and Technology – Ethiopia JiT Center of Excellence CRGE Resource CART (Climate Resilient Green Economy Resource Center for Advanced Research & Training Linking Energy with Water & Agriculture) Jimma University, Institute of Technology. His Ph.D. research interest is mainly focused on Water, energy, and Agriculture (food security) NEXUS, Processes simulation for the conversion of water hyacinth (Biomass) to Energy, Fertilizers, chemicals, electricity, and heat (the ‘Biorefinery Circular Economy’ concept).

  • Processes for the conversion of water hyacinth (Biomass) to Energy, Fertilizers, chemicals, electricity and heat (the ‘Biorefinery Circular Economy’ concept).

  • Simulation environment (Aspen Hysys , Aspen Plus and Pro II process simulators)
