Prof. Claudia Bianchi

Claudia L. Bianchi graduated in Industrial Chemistry in 1991 at the University of Milan. In 1996 she got the PhD in Material Science (tutor: Prof. Pizzini). Since 2006 she has got a position as Permanent position as Associate Professor of Industrial Chemistry. In 2013 Claudia Bianchi obtained the National Academic Qualification as Full Professor of Industrial Chemistry.

Prof. Bianchi is the coordinator of the Master in Industrial Chemistry of the University of Milan and the leader of the Process and Plants Research Group for Industrial Chemistry in the same University. The Group involves people who have interests in different fields, such as inorganic materials, surfaces science, analytical and physical chemistry, industrial chemistry and separation processes. The team also comprises an assistant professor, a graduate technician, two PhD students, two Post-docs, and all those undergraduates who are interested in carrying out their experimental thesis on one of the research subjects the Group is involved in.

Since 2002 she is Member of the Board of Directors of the European Society of Sonochemistry with the function of Secretary, and member of the Editorial Board of Ultrasonics-Sonochemistry (Elsevier).

LCA expert, she is author of 200 original papers on International Journals with IF in the field of applied material science and environmental catalysis.

Objectives of the research are:

1) the preparation of micro- and nanostructured materials active in photodegradation processes substantially for pollution control and environmental compliance;

2) the modification of the surface properties of solid materials;

3) the conversion of waste streams to value-added, saleable materials.

For what concern the teaching activity, Prof. Claudia Bianchi is the teacher of three UNIMI courses both for the bachelor course of Industrial Chemistry and for the Master in Industrial Chemistry.
